Two things to consider here.

1) “God created the devil and gave him JAWS” is one of the greatest tag-lines I’ve ever heard.

2) PG? Rated PG? Were people just way tougher in 1975? I saw this film reduce a packed-house audience to screaming terror a few years back, the scene in Ben Gardner’s boat sending popcorn into the air and at least one patron out of their seat. If this is the sort of film that is “maybe too intense for children,” I want to know what’s too intense for adults.
